Computers + Kids: summer
camp offers the very best in computer and high-tech experiences
for area youth - girls and boys ages 7 through 15+. How do we know? It’s been kid-tested
for over 25 years!
As Rachel writes. . .
“Dear Ms. K, I want
to take some time out of this day to thank you soooooooooooooooooooo
much!!!! You have taught me many new things that I had yet to learn.
I had no idea that there were so many things that you can teach
to a computer!!!!!!”
Children get to do it all – create their own computer game,
create an animation, use FLASH, do 3-D modeling and use CAD, discover the excitement
of digital photography and film-making, build their own web site, build and work programmable
robots, access great places on the Internet, and play the latest
approved, interactive online and software games. Computers are
used to stimulate creativity and thinking.
Computers
+ Kids is
a “showcase” for what a summer computer experience
should encompass. There is a computer for every camper. And each
day is individualized for each attendee!
Programming includes LOGO, QBASIC, HTML, and Visual Basic. Even
the youngest child can do computer programming with simply explained,
age-appropriate, one-on-one instruction. Kids love the color, sounds,
and action!
There are hands-on experiences not normally available in school
settings such as making a circuit board, building a computer, interfacing
a robot with a computer, and discovering speech and music synthesis.
Each week there is a special event when campers meet with an expert
for a surprise activity.
